The Living Wandle Landscape Partnership Scheme is delivering a series of improvement projects along the river, aimed to help preserve its special heritage and reconnect local communities to it.

The natural signature of the Wandle and the Wandle Landscape is unique in London.

The Living Wandle Landscape Partnership Scheme is delivering a series of improvement projects along the river, aimed to help preserve its special heritage and reconnect local communities to it.

This ambitious £2.4m programme will run until December 2017 and has been made possible through the dedicated hard work of organisations along the Wandle that are united to see the river become more accessible to everyone. Partners will contribute £784,000 and HLF have agreed to fund the scheme with £1.9m. The benefits to the area through the delivery of these carefully selected projects are designed to greatly exceed the sum of their parts…

The Living Wandle scheme is the first urban Landscape Partnership Scheme in the UK. For more information about schemes please visit the HLF website.

There are a mixture of physical changes and community projects taking place – the 19 projects offer something for everyone…
